Branch Library Tax Aid (via AARP)

AARP will be offering scanned tax aide services at two ASCPL Branch locations. Calls for appointments for both locations will begin Tuesday, January 16 at 10 a.m. Each location will be managing the signup for appointments at their location.

Maple Valley Branch Library

Appointment times are: Wednesdays, Feb 7, 2024 to April 10, 2024. The first appointment being at 11 am and the last being at 3:30 pm.

Northwest Akron Branch Library

Appointment times are: Fridays, Feb 2, 2024 to April 5, 2024. The first appointment being at 12 pm and the last being at 3 pm.

People will need to bring the following documents:

  • A copy of their Driver’s License or State ID and Social Security Card
  • Their tax documents, including W-2’s and 1099s
  • A blank / voided check for direct deposit

Tax Aide service at the branches will entail patrons dropping their tax materials off at their initial appointment, and then returning to the librarg once their return has been prepared.

  • If claimant is filing jointly their spouse is required to attend
  • Copies of previous years federal and state tax returns, if available
  • Any dependents SSN
  • Bank routing and account numbers for direct deposit.
  • IP PIN for current year if one has been issued to you
